Howdy, everyone!  This year, we officially open the Statistics Graduate Student Association (SGSA) website to the world.  Here, you will find information regarding the year's events (Brown Bag Seminars, Lunches with Faculty, etc.) in addition to information regarding the election process (to be conducted in February 2012).  We will also be posting photos from our events to the website for current and future students to enjoy.  Also, the Tutoring List is available via this website.  If you wish to join, please talk to our Treasurer, Poulami Barman, and indicate your interest in joining the Tutoring List.  Our Web Designer, Justin Chown, will see to it that your name be added to the list.  Both Poulami and Justin can be contacted via links through the

Howdy everyone!

This message goes out to all the members of the SGSA, as well as our fellow students, faculty and staff.  This semester, we put on a raffle in an attempt to raise money for the 2011-2012 scholastic year.  As many of you know, the university has had to do many budget cuts, and the SGSA has become entirely self-supported.  But that did not hold us down. 

We set out with a goal of raising $500 for next year.  Between that and what we expect to make with dues, we should be able to hold all our events.  Well, we got even more than we bargained for!  The total tally came out to $577!!  The winners of this year's raffle were:
