- MD Anderson Summer Internship Workshop

- Representatives came to discuss intership opportunities.
- MD Andersen is one of the nation’s original three comprehensive cancer centers established by the National Cancer Act of 1971. It is both a degree-granting academic institution and a cancer treatment and research center located at the Texas Medical Center in Houston. For seven of the past nine years, including 2010, MD Anderson has ranked No. 1 in cancer care in the “America’s Best Hospitals” survey published in U.S. News & World Report.
- Resume Workshop with Dr. Sheather

- Over the past few years, Dr. Sheather has taken the time to put on a resume workshop for students where he critiques two different resumes and gives advice on how to successfully distance each of you from the rest of the pack. This is predominantly geared towards those of you interested in industrial occupation beyond graduation, but all are welcome to come and learn.

- Dr. Lahiri Bio - Dr. Lahiri earned his Ph.D. in Michigan State University. His research
interests span over resampling, rates of convergence and expansions in
CLT, nonparametric inference for time series and spatial data, inference
for high dimensional and massive data, and the applications of statistical
methodology to different areas of science and engineering. - Dr. West Bio - Dr. West earned his Ph.D. in Statistics at Rice University. Dr. West has
developed more than 50 interactive web-based applets which help students
understand difficult statistical concepts. Besides software development,
his research interests focus on which involve a fair amount of statistical
computing.
